Personality[]

Maya fixing Luca's dress
Maya is a typical cute and innocent girl, who is characterized by her unequaled kindness. She is always nice to others, as seen when she makes gifts to them (to the Heartrose staff or Heartsping), or simply allows them to open up and feel comfortable. She likes to go above and beyond very often, when preparing birthdays, sharing her daily life on her blog, or even with everyday tasks such as taking care of her mother's shop, even though she lacks experience. She also likes to share the little bit of knowledge she has of plants. When it comes to her friends and parents, nothing can seem to stop her.

Maya opens up about her passion for fairytales
She is also very curious, and has a passion for myths and legends, as seen when she looks for a four-leaf clover, or even when she tells her friends about a fairytale she likes. However, she is also a little bit shy and sometimes has trouble opening up about herself. For example, she had trouble telling her friends how much she missed her father.
Following this innocent trait, Maya can be easily scared: first, because she doesn't like to get out of her comfort zone too much, especially when it comes to sports. Additionally, she is scared of things such as thrill rides.
Relationships[]
Friends[]

Maya taking selfies with Romi and Marylou
With her friends, Maya always has a lot of fun. With them, she tends to forget her shy nature to open up and feel comfortable, as she shows them her vlog channel and her passion for princess stories, and she even goes beyond her limits sometimes, most notably with the vaulting boxes test. They are always seen having fun together and often come to help with the Teeniepings starting from Season 2.
Family[]

Maya with her parents
Maya's parents are among the people she cares about the most. She has an excellent relationship with her mother, as she often helps her take care of the flower shop, and even more when she is sick, as seen in "Welcome, Dear Hope!".
As for her father, things are a little more complicated. Maya loves her father as much, as seen when she prepares for her birthday in "That's a No, Nonoping!", however, she is very saddened to not see him often as he is always busy because of his animation job. She has a hard time opening up about this situation to her friends, as seen in "Dad's Camera". Still, she is always ready to show him some love, whether it be with a letter or a surprise birthday. Photos are a good way of communication for them, which is why Maya has a passion for vlogging and taking photos.
History[]
Background life[]
While not much is known about Maya's past, it is assumed that she spent her childhood in Harmony Town, growing up with her parents. She spent a lot of time with them, especially with her father (as seen in "Dad's Camera"), which allowed her to form big bonds with them.
When Romi arrived in Harmony Town, Maya quickly became best friends with her, unaware of her secret identity and mission.
Season 1: New Friends, New Adventures[]

Maya filming her cooking tutorial
In Season 1, Romi, and soon enough Marylou, play a key role in helping Maya open up about various aspects of herself. In "The Cookie Mess", she reveals traits like her online vlog channel. Maya's kindness to others often leads to support reciprocated in return.

Maya overcoming her fear of vaulting boxes
A notable instance is the confrontation of her fear of vaulting boxes in "You Can Do It, Maya!". Overcoming her apprehension during a gym test proves challenging, but Gogoping's magic instills her with courage, enabling her to jump over the boxes. Despite her efforts, she doesn't jump high enough and fails, prompting tears. Yet, after Romi and Marylou finish their catching mission, they assist Maya in practicing jumps. The next day, Maya conquers her test, showcasing her inherent courage even without magical aid. In gratitude, Maya organizes Romi's birthday party in "Unforgettable Birthday Party".

Maya having trouble taking care of her mother's shop
In "Welcome, Dear Hope!", Maya steps in to help her mother manage the shop due to her mother's illness. Her quest for a four-leaf clover stems from a belief that it brings luck, serving as a wish for her mother's recovery from a leg injury. Although she doesn't find one, her dedication to making the reserved plants flourish doesn't waver. Despite creating chaos, her mother's reassurance and Chachaping's magic bolster her spirits when she unexpectedly discovers a four-leaf clover. Ultimately, the plants thrive, satisfying the customer.
Like others, Maya is at times affected by the playful magic of the Teeniepings, as seen in "Don't Look at the Mirror" and "The Upside Down World". This dynamic intensifies the complexity for Romi, who must not only catch a Teenieping but also rescue her friends.
Occasional disagreements surface between Maya and her friends. In "That's a No, Nonoping!", an argument with Romi occurs (influenced by Nonoping), as Romi refuses to take part in the preparation for Maya's father's birthday. Forced to embark on a thrill ride by Lena in "The Electric Touch", she still partakes in memorable moments. Participating in the flower contest in "Angry Roarping" stands out.

Maya dressed as a fairytale princess
One of her most memorable moments of the season is when she attends the ball arranged by Romi and Marylou in "Maya The Little Princess". As the girls are having a sleepover, Maya sees a book Romi has and explains how much she loves the story, even if it is for little ones. Seeing the passion she has for the book, her friends organize a ball, where Maya wears a dress fashioned by Romi and the Royal Teeniepings' magic, and she dances with Ian, who becomes a prince for the night.

Maya and Marylou reuniting with Romi
However, this journey seems to conclude when Romi must depart in "Princess Veronica". Maya and Marylou discover Romi's secret identity and her imminent departure. Though saddened initially, their spirits lift upon learning that Romi can remain on Earth.
Season 2: A Stronger Friendship[]

Maya comforting Romi
In Twinkle Catch! Teenieping, as their friendship is back on track, they're free to enjoy more fun activities like new sleepovers. But there's a new twist that makes it even stronger. Romi now has a mission to catch the Jewel Teeniepings. Luckily, their strong friendship lets Romi share her secret identity with her pals. This way, they're in the loop and can help when needed.

Romi, Maya, and Marylou all shrunken down
This can be seen in "Shrinking Romi!": Maya and Marylou shrink down with Romi after Timidping does its thing. They have to figure out how to get back to normal size. Then, in "Tidy Up Until It Sparkles!", they help Romi find Tidyping. And in "Trustping Has Fainted!", Maya uses her plant knowledge to help Romi grow the Jewel Tomato.

Maya knitting with Heartsping
In "Things Get Wooly!", Maya makes friends with a Teenieping named Cozyping who's been set free. The funny part is that Maya lets Romi know the Heartsping doll left at the Heartrose Bakery wasn't magic-made, but something Maya made. Another encounter includes Jennie in "Another Princess": they bond while going to a fun fair.
Maya's always there as a great support: like when Heartsping gets kidnapped, she's right by Romi's side, giving her strength in tough times.
Season 3: Life Goes on[]
In Secret Catch! Teenieping, when Romi is assigned the task of capturing the Key Teeniepings, their friendship maintains the same energy: unwaveringly supportive. This is demonstrated in "Secret Catch! Key Teeniepings" where Maya and Marylou help Romi complete her bakery tasks to earn the chance for a bike ride through Harmony Town. This time, Maya even witnesses Romi's live encounter with the new Teeniepings, although the events catch her slightly off guard.

Maya bonding with Fashionping
Maya's consistent personality shines through as always. She continues to be a steadfast supporter of her friends, as seen in "Romi and Heartsping's Bodies are Switched". She's thrilled to witness Romi's personality transformation and equally surprised by Romi's impressive science skills. Her kindness knows no bounds, notably shown when she assists in sewing a part of Luca's new dress. Also, during the Luck Festival in "Lucky Cookie Full of Fortune", her fortune cookie's "gift" leads her to connect with Fashionping, as they chat about designing a dress.

Maya making a huge mess under Partyping's influence
However, in "Let's Party with Partyping", her efforts to help with Marylou's birthday preparations inadvertently cause chaos under Partyping's influence. Upon regaining her senses, she's deeply regretful of the mess she created. In "Teenieping Fashion Show", she eagerly watches the fashion show.

Maya opening up about her father
Yet, "Dad's Camera" reveals a different side of Maya. Long known for her reserved and shy demeanor, she opens up about her past. The day starts normally, with Maya capturing moments using her film camera. When Romi suggests snapping some pictures of Maya herself, Maya feels uneasy. She confides in her friends that she takes photos of her father, who's busy with his animation job and doesn't have much time to spend with her. The photos became a way for her to share her life with her father.

Maya writing a letter to her father
Later on, an emotional moment unfolds. Developed old photos of Maya and her father, thanks to Luckyping's magic, bring forth a flood of cherished memories. Maya, along with everyone else, can't hold back tears. This experience helps her realize the immense significance of her father in her life. Motivated, she writes a heartfelt letter expressing her feelings, causing her father to be equally moved. In the end, they reaffirm their unbreakable bond, knowing that nothing can weaken their connection.
